HP is actively driving hardware and software value for customers based on hypothesis-driven development.  We are looking for a Director, Analytics & Business Intelligence who is excited to lead a new team focused on delivering understanding and actionable insights into our customer’s experience, and the experts that serve them.

What you will bring

  • Seasoned leader with previous experience using insights to drive business growth

  • Provide guidance to the C-suite and functional leaders on KPI's, metrics, and business decisions including accurate analysis of user and business data

  • Lead the process of turning business questions, risks and issues into verifiable hypotheses, creating experiments and analysis to test them and make recommendations based on the analysis – including multivariate and A/B test analytics communicating results and making recommendations to key stakeholders

  • 10+ years’ experience leading teams in data and statistical analysis, with a deep understanding of explanatory power of data and hypothesis-driven analyses.

  • Have demonstrated experience coaching and leading teams in data mining algorithms and statistical modeling techniques such as clustering, classification, regression, decision trees, anomaly detection, recommender systems, sequential pattern discovery, and text mining.

  • Experience with tools to analyze, manipulate and visualize datasets (e.g. SQL, Excel/Sheets, Python, Splunk, Tableau, PowerBI).

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field or commensurate experience (Statistics, Applied Math, Econometrics, Operations Research).

  • Practical experience of the implementation of data stewardship, including master data management, data quality, data dictionaries and ETL tools

  • Investigator: Lead your team to translate business questions into verifiable hypotheses, create experiments and/or analysis to test them, and generate recommendations based on the findings.

  • Dot-Connector: Your business and operational acumen help you recognize patterns, connections and relationships across variables. You make the connections across data sets to help others understand the broader system.

  • Communicator:  Simplicity and clarity of analysis brings data to life and inspires action and understanding. You have experience successfully communicating with senior or C-level executives.

  • Craftsperson: Build reports that allow others to interact, utilize and better understand the underlying data, relationships, and insights.

Location

This position is available as a full-time remote/work-from-home role. Ideally, the candidate would live within the continental United States. Employees also have the option to work at an HP branch in Austin, Houston, Fort Collins, or Palo Alto.
