Position background
In the GTM analytics COE our mission is to deliver impact by building machine learning products to optimize pricing and marketing investments and provide guidance to our sales organization.
Imagine arriving at a retailer to buy HP products to find empty shelves what will you do? The inventory management team is developing data science algorithms and tools to improve consumer experience and ensure HP maximize returns on inventory.
We are looking for a data science leader that can help us make the decisions how to distribute our inventory today so that it would meet consumer needs in the following weeks.

What you will do
Build a team data science team with a strong culture of delivery; tenacious and accountable for results
Lead the problem solving on inventory management with internal stakeholders on identifying the right methodology and data sources that need to be managed.
Inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to be highly effective both in terms of impact and team culture
Act as a trusted mentor and advisor to others within our broader technology organization to ensure the scaling of best practices and use of repeatable patterns
Develop platform that would enable inventory management of the HP’s products funds moving them dynamically to where the best returns are
What you will need:
Bachelor’s in computer engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field
Proven track record of success leading teams in Data Science
Theoretical and applied skills in Machine Learning
Good leadership and mentoring skills
Experience in deploying ML solutions
Web-Services (Spring, REST etc.); Data management (SQL, Spring data, JPA etc.)
Languages: Python or R
