The Systems & Infrastructure team is responsible for the design, build, and deployment of a world class infrastructure that drives automaton, implementation of new business models, and growth at scale for HP’s services business. With a focus on Innovation, the group drives market differentiation with architectural vision to consolidate, accelerate and simplify new technology adoption and deliver high value solutions that solve the pain points of HP’s customers. The Systems & Infrastructure charter covers both Print as well as Personal Systems Services tying these two service groups at their infrastructure offers and leverage to deliver consistent and effective customer outcomes.

The Systems Enablement team within System & Infrastructure is the engineering group responsible for developing, testing and supporting all the infrastructure assets and solutions.

Job Description:

The Development Lead with the System Enablement team applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients. Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. May provide mentoring and guidance to lower level employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct and ongoing technical and project leadership for a team of individual contributors designing and developing new products, enhancements and updates. and coordinating projects for systems software
  • Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated, and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.
  • Communicates project status and escalates issues to direct managers, program managers, Business Analysts and internal and external development partners.
  • Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs; ensures that team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources.
  • Can operate in a fast-moving environment, make quick data driven customer backed decisions and execute fiercely to deliver outcomes.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunities.
  • Provides people-care management for assigned team members, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; ensures that proper knowledge and career development tools are in place to support ongoing team member and process development.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • Typically, 6-10 years’ experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Extensive experience with multiple software systems design tools and languages.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in overall architecture of software systems for products and solutions.
  • Designing and integrating software systems running on multiple platform types into overall architecture.
  • Evaluating forms and processes for software systems testing and methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels.
  • Experience in Window based development.  Programming experience in C# and JavaScript preferred.  Experience in SQL and Database.
