Position

Creative Solutions Program Manager

Description:

The Creative Solutions Program Manager will unite cross-functional teams to work in concert to provide experiences and not just features, to our creative customers. Organize and lead a cross functional Program Team including marketing, software, hardware, ISV software providers, documentation, and support. Responsible for the development and execution management of program and business objectives for Creative Solutions initiatives and for the release of new solutions to the marketplace. Ensures ownership and alignment is achieved between external and internal partners to meet program goals as defined by the lifecycle and other processes.  Acts as the champion of the complete solution for the products or initiatives for which they are responsible.  Provides leadership, guidance, inspiration and focus to ensure all teams achieve their plans and schedules.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for developing the execution plan which defines the objectives, deliverables and detailed plans.  Identifies key milestones, resources needed and obtain resource commitments from key partners. Engages and aligns sponsors.  Influences partner organizations to meet program objectives.  Negotiates alternatives to achieve an executable plan that meets the program objectives.  Escalates issues when necessary to obtain funding and investment alignment for execution activities.
  • Responsible for managing programs or initiatives following defined checkpoints, decision making models, and methodologies.  Manages all functional areas contributing to solution.  Focus is on complete and timely delivery of the specified program objectives.  Balances customer and business objectives to achieve solution delivery.
  • Where barriers to success exist, drive change inside and outside of the organization by looking for shared goals, understanding differences, and escalating when necessary.
  • Acts as the first level of escalation when issues and/or priorities cannot be resolved at the team level.  Ensures ownership of escalations.
  • Manages risk.  Reviews and coordinates the numerous execution plans and schedules to monitor deliverables and potential slips in schedule, quality, or cost.  Proactively identifies risks and linkages.  Anticipates potential problems.  Ensures contingency plans are created and proper coordination occurs. 
  • Responsible for promoting teamwork and cooperative effort.  Understands and applies appropriate quality and process improvements as necessary. Coordinates with other organizations to align processes and share best practices.
  • Effectively and proficiently communicates status, issues and resolutions to the program team and key stakeholders.  Uses the best practice program management processes to track progress, resolve issues, and present alternatives for management consideration.  Prepares and delivers checkpoint presentations to management. 

Minimum Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science degree in engineering/scientific field.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience with product and solution lifecycles with state of the art methodologies such as Agile, Lean, etc
  • Demonstrated project management experience including defining, scheduling, analyzing risk, tracking progress, and communicating effectively
  • Proven ability to work on multiple and complex deliverables and manage ambiguity and change
  • Demonstrated effective communication, presentation, negotiation, planning, organization and facilitation skills. 
  • Demonstrated breadth of knowledge and understanding of hardware, software, manufacturing, marketing and financial issues and technologies. Has ability to make sound business decisions.

Desirable:

  • PMP, CSM certifications
  • Complementary business degree (or relevant experience) highly desired
  • Familiarity with HP systems and processes

The estimated range of compensation for this job at the time of this posting is $115,685 - $156,515.  This position may be eligible for incentive pay, for openings where this is applicable.
