About the Team:
Advanced Compute and Solutions R&D hosts ZCentral Solution development including marketing, software and hardware. We are looking for passionate, curious, and collaborative team-members who will help us deliver solutions that provide superior value for our customers and deliver business value to HP.
The successful candidate applies subject matter knowledge to collaboratively solve common and complex software development problems within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project leader providing direction and guidance to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle most unique situations. May seek advice to make decisions on complex problems.
Responsibilities:
Designs and implements enhancements, updates, and programming changes for applications.
Analyzes design and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of overall architecture of product or solution.
Writes and executes complete test plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application; identifies, debugs, and creates solutions for issues with code and integration into application architecture.
Collaborates, supports and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science.
Typically 0-6 years experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
Expertise in multiple software design tools and languages including experience with and a solid understanding of C++ or C#.
Although some UX programming may be required, this position will focus on database and back-end programming.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Designing software systems running on multiple platform types.
Solid understanding of software systems testing methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
Demonstrated growth mindset, deep technical curiosity, and a willingness to tackle complex problems.
Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options.
Preference given to candidates with one or more of the following:
Experience employing industry standard protocols (e.g. TLS, SQL, cryptography)
Technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows
Linux programming experience
Microservices
Web services
Networking

The estimated range of compensation for this job at the time of this posting is $73,100 - $98,900. This position may be eligible for incentive pay, for openings where this is applicable.
