RPA Developer

Infrastructure & Service Technology (IST), CS

Role Description:

This position resides within the Customer Support RPA Team, aligned to the CS Infrastructure and Service Technology (CS IST) organization.  The CS RPA team is responsible for the RPA architecture, development and deployment strategy of Customer Support as well as delivery of some RPA and non-RPA automation projects within CS. The team consists of multiple roles including:

  • RPA Business Analyst: within a project, this role is generally responsible for solution architecture, security, user experience definition and delivery planning.
  • RPA developer: within a project, this role is generally responsible for design, configuration, development of RPA solutions

What RPA Developer does at HP:

  • Design Develop and Deploy RPA solutions as well as non-RPA scripting solutions (C#, VB.Net, SQL, JavaScript) to drive efficiencies and process improvement in Operations.
  • Participates in code reviews and may lead code reviews.
  • Designs, prepares, and executes Unit tests.
  • Develop and document RPA configuration best practices, configure new RPA processes and objects using core workflow principles that are efficient, well structured, maintainable and easy to understand.
  • Work within project constraints, communicating any identified project risks and issues to the project manager accordingly and providing inputs to the change control process.
  • Continuously assess the RPA solution to address potential user experience improvements or additional efficiencies
  • Manage RPA solution, infrastructure including VM’s and application upgrades/migrations
  • Defect management in Production and Test environments through the support model
  • Proactively searches for issues and provides solutions to prevent problems from occurring in area of responsibility including patch management.
  • Adhere to coding standards and documentation standards for the solutions, test procedures and scenarios during UAT and Production phase
  • Creating test plan automation procedures
  • Coordinate with Stakeholders to ensure test scenarios & Samples ready
  • Validate the testing scenarios
  • Perform Techno-functional testing
  • Performing stress tests that expose the product performance
  • Coordinate with other domain such as project management and Developers scheduling for QA testing
  • Suggesting improvements areas to Development team to prevent future mistakes during production

Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
  • Typically, 5-6 years of related experience in IT or business operations
  • Minimum 2 year of experience in application development or RPA development.
  • Certification in any well-known RPA technology is an added advantage

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong Problem-solving and Analytical Skills
  • Knowledge and experience with one or more of the following enterprise RPA technologies - Assist Edge, UiPath
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in programming (including VB, C#, .Net, WPF), SQL and relational databases, and application development
  • Knowledge and experience in BOT Deployment and Control room and release management.
  • Knowledge of API integration in BOTS
  • Knowledge of attended, unattended and hybrid RPA automations
  • Good understanding of emerging technologies such as ML,
  • Solid familiarity with OCR technologies and their application
  • Ability to interpret and visualize business process flows and translate them to automation solutions and test scripts
  • Advanced understanding of modern software development methodologies.
  • Basic understanding of Lean Six Sigma process methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills (i.e. written, verbal, presentation), leadership, and influence skills. Mastery in English and local language as well as other languages as required

About the team:

CS RPA Team is part of CS Infrastructure and Service Technology (IST) organization. The core responsibility of this team is to deliver efficient automation to CS operations and help to remove the repeatable and manual tasks of the HP operations users. This team is responsible for e2e project management including requirement gathering, propose design, development, manage UAT and Implementation. Team is organized into 4 workstreams to manage the project effectively (BA/Techno BA, Developer, QA, and PM). CS RPA team implemented around 149 ROBOTs using Assist Edge RPA platform from Infosys and deployed Non-RPA solution using programming Languages like C#, VB.Net, SQL etc.
