Roles and Responsibilities
This is an opportunity to join Statistical Forecasting group of Print Category Operations within HPI and provide statistical baseline forecast for all Print Businesses. The group is responsible to generate unbiased statistical long-term and short-term baseline forecast. Help in timely support and submission of forecast and be part of overall accuracy improvement initiatives. Provide ad-hoc analytics and operational expertise to drive fact-based strategic and tactical planning, manage and execute forecast improvement initiatives. The responsibilities also include price elasticity analysis, promo planning, Gap management, NPI Rollover, Cannibalization studies. Key metrics include Forecast Accuracy and bias, days of inventory (DOI), and availability.
Work Location: Electronic City office in Bangalore
Generate statistical baseline forecast for Print HW & Supplies business units in SAP IBP. Improve and maintain Forecast Accuracy. Forecasting Support:
SAP IBP & Country Split & Option Split
Monthly Checks: Backlog, Shipment against operational forecast
Publish Forecast accuracy measurement (product mix) and Reports. Initiate, plan, execute, communicate and close accuracy improvement projects within requested timeframe (business requirements) Manage product rollovers and end-of-life to appropriately balance availability and inventory risks. Work with Planning SME within PPS and Global Analytics for any business / process performance improvement initiatives
Skills and Profile requirements
Academic Credentials: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
Experience Profile :
Essential: 5-10 Years work experience in unit forecasting for Hi Tech or related industry with significant experience in multitasking/ cross functional collaboration. Basic appreciation and knowledge of statistical concepts and application of statistics in forecasting is essential
Desired:
Work experience in SAP IBP Demand Planning or any proprietary demand planning/forecasting tools
Experience of working with organization of similar size (Revenue/ Geographic breadth) and / or Product portfolio
Experience of working with geographically dispersed teams and achieving deliverables through Collaborative means.
Analysis Skills:
Ability to work with imperfect information; overall ability to recognize risk and key decision points.
Ability to recognize cost/benefit trade-offs in the decision-making process.
Capable to interpret complex data.
Ability to synthesize information from various inputs and develop appropriate action plans.
Proven problem-solving skills
Overall understanding of basic supply chain concepts
Must be able to develop an understanding of key products and their supply chain.
Must have an ability to prioritize work to meet business objectives.
Relationship Building Skills:
Ability to cultivate relationships across business units & markets.
Ability to work successfully in a highly collaborative work environment.
Facilitation and Communication Skills:
Ability to effectively execute tasks, responsibilities and meet deliverable deadlines using multiple modes available for virtual collaboration (Telephone, email, instant messaging, Virtual rooms/ Net meeting as applicable)
Ability to facilitate meetings, with agenda, objectives and solid meeting structure.
Ability to present clear, concise information to highlight issues and trade-offs.
Proven ability to use influence and persuasion to get results.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of Statistics and S&OP process and its role in an organization.
Proficiency in SAP IBP is an added advantage for this position.
Must be proficient in Excel, including knowledge of formulas, macros and pivot tables.
Basic/intermediate knowledge of Power-point.
Must be proficient using multiple tools and data sources
